Importance of Raw Food

Chapter 2
                                          Importance of Raw Food

Raw food is also called ‘living food’. Uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts and sprouted seeds come under raw food. Eatables in their natural form are called raw food. Unprocessed natural foods that have not been heated above 115 degree Fahrenheit or 46 degree Celsius are called raw food.  Raw food is live food and hence is the right food for a live body. Cooked food is dead food and definitely cannot be right food for a live body.
Switching from cooked food to raw food has helped cure many diseases which could not be cured by medicines. Raw diet can easily help cure diseases like diabetes, acne, migraines, body pains, high and low blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, allergies, depression, anxiety, gas problems, skin diseases, obesity, cancer and many more.
As you switch to raw food, your eyes start shining and your skin becomes smooth making you look younger than you are. Your hair stops turning white and you start looking more beautiful. Wrinkles get erased and the bags below your eyes disappear. Your gums stop bleeding. Your body feels light and you feel more energetic. All this sounds like a miracle. Yes! It is a miracle. And you will understand it only when you find it happening to you as you switch from cooked food to raw food. You need not wait for months or years for the miracle to take place. The changes can be noticed within a few days. You will be giving your body all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other life giving substances it needs. If you cook the food, you lose these nutrients since most of them are destroyed during cooking.
Our body needs enzymes for the various activities of daily life like walking, talking, running and so on. We need to keep on giving our body the necessary amount of enzymes so that the above activities can be done with full energy. When we eat raw food, the enzymes are replenished.
There are two types of enzymes, namely exogenous and endogenous. Exogenous is found in raw food and exogenous is produced in our body.
We are all born with a limited amount of enzyme energy that has to last till we die. When we eat raw food, we are able to add to our stock of enzymes.
The food we eat has to be broken down into simpler food by the enzymes. When we eat raw food, the enzymes found in raw food, help to digest that very food when we chew it. But since cooked food does not contain enzymes, it has to be digested by the enzymes produced in the body. This leads to the exhaustion of cellular enzyme. The immune system of our body becomes weak leading to diseases. Our brain function is affected and our energy level is lowered. Cooked food diet is the main cause of the short life span of man. Nowadays very few humans live up to 100 years.
Many people keep searching for something or the other in the house. They can’t find pen, pencil or spectacles. Even children are found to forget where they have kept their things.  One cure for this is to increase the intake of raw food in our diet. Vitamins (B1 or Thiamine, B2 or Riboflavin and B3) give strength and energy to our mind. We can get vitamin B from germinated grams, nuts and green vegetables. Milk and milk products have vitamin B2.
Folic acid is good for the mind. We can get folic acid if we eat green vegetables and ground nut.
Vitamin A, C &E found in all fresh green leafy vegetables and fruits have been found to reduce the risk of cancer.
