Dangers of eating MEAT

Chapter 21
 DECAYING MEAT

Though god created the human being to eat only fruits and vegetables, human beings learnt to make fire and cook meat for consumption. This has lead to killing of so many poor animals and birds. The human beings consume mostly the muscles, brain, liver, skin, kidneys and in some countries even the lungs of the animals. Animals and birds like sheep, goats, hens, etc are now raised to be killed for their meat.
Muscles are high in proteins and essential amino acids. Meat is rich in zinc, vitamin B12, B6, Selenium, phosphorous,   iron and riboflavin. Meat has a lot of fat (the bad type), less carbohydrates and absolutely no fiber.
Danger: Regular consumption of meat leads to cancer of lungs, oesophagus, liver and colon. Meat consumption also causes mutation of DNA. Animal fat contains a higher percentage of saturated fat which is a cause for so many health problems. Saturated fat is found to raise the risk of colon cancer, breast cancer, osteoporosis and prostrate cancer. Meat consumption is also increases the risk of heart attack and diabetes. Those who consume meat regularly are found to suffer from problems of over weight, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Meat can transmit diseases to humans especially if the meat is not properly cooked. Badly cooked meat can contain parasites that can cause serious diseases.
Chicken is often found to carry disease causing bacteria.  When a person eats meat, he is also consuming the toxins present inside the animal or bird. The person’s immune system is damaged and he can easily fall sick.
Danger of cooked meat: When meat is cooked, some amines are created in the meat which increases the risk of cancer in humans.
Karma: Every act of ours creates karma. A good act creates good karma and a bad act creates bad karma. God created human being to eat only fruits and vegetables. Hence that is the perfect and lawful food for us humans. Every animal has a right to live. When we kill an animal for our food, we are violating that right to live given to that animal by god. Hence by killing an animal we are creating a bad karma. Our karmas keep coming up to give us the fruits depending on the type of karma. A good karma makes us happy and a bad karma makes us sad. I am sure that all of you would like to have a good stock of good karma so that you can be happy all the time.
Eggs: There is a misunderstanding among many people that eating egg is vegetarian. This is wrong. Egg eating is also a non-vegetarian practice. The life form or the soul enters the egg during conception or fertilization itself. So egg has life and hence breaking an egg is equal to killing the life inside. Hence eating an egg also leads to bad karma.
Decaying meat: Many people who travel from cold countries to war countries find that they get indigestion when they eat meat. They blame this on the bad quality of meat available in that country. But actually what happens is that meat gets spoilt faster in a warm country. It takes a long time for our body to digest meat. Many times the meat rots inside the stomach before it is digested causing indigestion.
